The Window Energy Rating (WER) scale goes from A to A++ (best). A++ rated windows lose the least heat and can even gain heat from sunlight. All our Liniar uPVC windows are A++ rated as standard — you don't pay extra for the top rating.
uPVC offers the best value and thermal performance (U-values to 1.2 W/m²K). Aluminium offers slimmer frames and a longer lifespan, with U-values to 1.4 W/m²K. Both are excellent — the right choice depends on your budget, your property and your aesthetic preferences. We'll advise at survey.
Yes. Modern double glazing with the right glass specification can significantly reduce external noise. For homes on busy roads like the A46 or London Road, we recommend acoustic laminate glass — a specialist PVB interlayer that dampens sound waves far more effectively than standard double glazing.
Quality double glazing should last 20–30 years. The sealed units (the glass) typically last 15–20 years before the gas fill degrades and condensation appears between panes. We’ll confirm the guarantee terms for your chosen glass, frames and installation with your quote.
